What is Sender Identification?
As the name suggests, it is a number that flashes on the recipients mobile phone when they receive such bulk SMSes. A GSM network or operator can accept Sender Identification number of upto 8-characters, Alpha-Numeric String or 12 digits Numeric while those of CDMA or TDMA is only upto 12 digits Numeric String. It takes only 24 hours to activate this sender identification system on receiving the required documents. Sender ID acts as a unique id proof for representing a company's brand name.
The Source Address of An Alphanumeric sender identification must strictly adhere to the following criteria:
- The length of this ID should be between 3 and 8 characters
- It should be without any blank spaces
- The first character can be anything but "0" (zero)
- It should contain accented characters
- It should be void of Punctuation marks and special characters, such as * $ < , > ? ! % [ ] |
- It should not contain any Roman or Greek characters
- It should not be name of any individual
- The Source Addresses of such sender ID are case sensitive
